What it means
A freestanding bathtub is a complete, self-supporting tub. Nothing about it is built into the room: no tiled surround, no cemented base, no pipes buried in the wall. It arrives finished on all sides, sits directly on your bathroom floor, and drains into the floor trap your bathroom already has.

Freestanding is the format that makes a bathtub possible in most HDB and condo bathrooms. Because the tub connects to the existing floor trap through a flexible drainage outlet, there is no hacking, no tiling, no waterproofing work, and no plumbing changes. A typical HERA installation takes about 30 to 45 minutes, and you can usually soak the same evening.
