A mechanism that slows a drawer or lid so it closes quietly without slamming. Standard on HERA vanity drawers.
What it means
Soft-close is a small mechanism built into a drawer runner or a hinge. As the drawer or door nears the frame, the mechanism catches it and slows the last few centimetres of travel, so it settles shut gently instead of banging. You push the drawer as you normally would, take your hand away, and it finishes closing on its own.
The benefit is partly about quiet and partly about wear. A drawer that slams puts repeated shock through the joints, hinges, and whatever is inside it. Soft-close removes that impact, which is easier on the cabinet and on the contents. On a vanity, it also means glass bottles and skincare do not rattle every time the drawer shuts.
